Kaleab Alemayehu
ROLE: Software Engineer
Hey, I’m Kaleab, a backend engineer who gets unreasonably excited about distributed systems, message queues, and what happens when two nodes disagree on the truth.
I write Go. A lot of Go. Payment services, gRPC APIs, CDC engines, event-driven architectures, the kind of work where the details actually matter.
I’ve shipped P2P payment flows with real-time ledger sync, live gift overlays for TikTok streamers, and a gifting mini-app that somehow held up in production. Good times.
Outside of work I build things for fun: a Werewolf game bot running in active Telegram groups, a LAN multiplayer Pong game, a mini CDC engine that taps directly into PostgreSQL’s WAL. I also write about the stuff I build every now and then.
I’m obsessed with Linux, clean architecture, and systems that are simple to reason about. I care a lot about the boring stuff: idempotency, consistency, failure modes, because that’s usually where things fall apart.
